Call for Papers

The organizing committees invite you to submit your abstract for the 6th JISDM in Karlsruhe!

We encourage the submission of abstracts that deal with the broad spectrum of deformation measurement and analysis. Hence, papers should present scientific aspects or applications regarding the deformation monitoring of natural objects and man-made structures. The individual presentations may be focused on pure theory, on practical aspects or on both.

Topics of interest include but are not limited to the following subject areas:

Sensors and sensor systems
  • GNSS
  • Optical systems and total stations
  • Radar interferometry (ground-based and spaceborne)
  • Photogrammetry
  • Laser scanning (terrestrial laser scanning, airborne laser scanning, permanent laser scanning)
  • Multi-sensor systems and geo-sensor networks
  • Fibre optics
  • Geotechnical sensors
  • Novel sensors

Methods:
  • Time series analysis in the context of deformation monitoring
  • Kinematic, static and dynamic deformation models
  • Areal modelling and analysis of deformation
  • Quality control and analysis of deformation measurements
  • Machine learning for deformation monitoring
  • Optimization techniques in deformation analysis
  • Testing theory for deformation analysis
  • Novel algorithms and data processing techniques for deformation analysis
  • Handling big data in deformation monitoring
  • Digital twins and augmented reality in the context of deformation monitoring
  • Risk assessment

Applications:
  • Structural health monitoring
  • Monitoring of geohazards
  • Interdisciplinary approaches for the monitoring of natural and man-made objects
  • Regional crustal deformation studies
  • Early warning systems
  • Sensors and sensor system
